NYRA loses money every time a horse steps out on the track. Without another huge cash infusion from the nearly bankrupt state, NYRA is due to run out of money early in 2010. Purses were slashed this year. Those $50K+ MSWs are no more for example.

Mountineer is a sham of a place. A dive. The last step before the truck..no rules, no laws, no drug testing...any horse with at least 3 legs can race. Racinos kept MTN racing alive....for the time being.



Wow Wooley . Have You ever Been to Mountaineer ? Obviously Not . Track is Well Lit Clean and Sharp in Appearance . Dump ?

Try Aqueduct if you want to see a Dump. Smells Like a Mold Filled Wino Hangout when the Cold sets in .

Reality is Horse Racing Has to Survive as a Viable product without All the Side Shows Being the Main Show . Country needs to see no more than 4-5 Tracks Running Daily and The Tracks need to Be Located in Places Climate Conducive to Racing

Ever Been to Tampa Bay Downs ? Great Example of Small Track Ambiance without Sideshows and makes a Profit !!

Too Many Poor Bred Horses Trying to Be Spread Out Through Too Many Tracks, supporting jobs that shouldn't exist.

If You Fully think that Betting is Going to On Line Outlets then Why have 20 of them Running ? I play Too Many Tracks at Once as it is but 20 Running At Once ?

You Can Keep Make Excuses for Aqueduct and No Attendance and how it Don't Matter but Facts Are Racing Should Not Be Happening in Substandard facilities on Frozen Tundra . Slots won't change that fact.

By the way Take a Look at Attendance on Dec26th at Santa Anita [opening day] Franks Troubled Place will draw more that day than Aqueduct will the Whole Inner Season . CASE CLOSED
