If Mesa Girl is ever going to pop at a price, this is the race. Jockey Three-finger Brown will have to employ all his talents and skills to take advantage of this perfect set-up. Use underneath for certain. Bob's Pinup Girl is ultra consistent - the one to beat, but Eddie Castro has to keep his head on. Smart claim by Persaud, taking Much Fanfare - the bugboy has to ride alertly, but can save ground from the rail. It's Not for Love draws interest - Tim Hills excels on grass and Paco Lopez rides. I guess I just fashioned a dime box....1-5-7-9

ex, tri & dime box: 1-5-7-9 and these are the four I'm alive with in DD and P3. Also, ex box....5/ALL. Mesa Girl will make my day, but requires a great leap of faith.

1/8 Pole just phoned from Belmont Park. He was able to borrow some money and grab a pocketbook from an old woman. He told me he only knocked her down while breaking her fall with his arms but did not punch her. He has a mother and two daughters and a girlfriend and is "all heart" with females.
He laid in these wagers:
Ex: 7/1-2-9
ExBx: 2/7/9

I'm in for a binky but I've gone gun shy after the first eight.
ExBx: 2/5
ExBx: 5/7
Ex: 9/1-2-5-7

Andy and Jason are really downgrading the May 6 race (Bob's Pinup Girl, Starsilhouette, Mesa Girl) and pumping up the 2 who's supposed to match up with and beat It's Not for Love. Nevertheless, I like Bob, the 1 is a good race for the bug to build on his impressive record and the 4 or 5. 9,1,4,5

Mesa Girl was dismal.....uncertain if it's the soft turf, the jock who rides once a week and is out of touch with the nuances of all the courses, or the horse no longer has it. I'll try this steed again on firm turf - as I will others on today's card who fell short. The payoffs were pleasing, though that odds-on winner of Race 7 kept down the P3 payouts. Also, wish I could have taken down this triple (though it would have been on the small side) with three of my four, but Hill's runner faded to fourth. Another day in the books.

I couldn't go "yippee" on a 4-horse box that brought back 5/2 off a $9.60 winner E78th but I'm old and stupid now even though I understand that collecting is certainly better than ripping.
Congrats for sure.

No offense intended, it just makes me darned happy if I get it right at all. I'm trying, and I'm trying to give my best opinion. Most of the time I miss, and if I get 3 of 4, it's 1st 3rd and 4th--or, more often, 2nd, 5th and 8th--not the ex and tri box money, and as here and as usual, no super. I guess I'm a little proud that I went against what Jason and Andy were saying and was proved right this time, when usually discounting either or both of their opinions is a guarantee of disaster for me. Covering the bug in the getaway race with the numbers he's been putting up seemed very reasonable but I expected Bob, not him, to win.
