DD....3/4-6-7-8.....DD....1/4 Landed, finally, with bin Suroor's Hibaayeb. Too many Gr. I's on the resume. JV only takes top mounts from this outfit, that is so deliberate with their runners. saver bugboy double acknowledges Biancone's faith in allowing an apprentice to ride this win machine at journeyman weight. will they attempt a wire job?

Only NELL carries on the Pick 3 but I remember this race when it meant a lot and had more than 6 plodders in it on a Saturday afternoon.

Lived in Sheepshead Bay for a decade and my crowd always made the trip to the track to play this stakes. Of course, it is named after the long defunct racetrack. Essentially white neighborhood always had a two-block stretch with descendants of the old track's black stablehands and jockeys.

Rocketman, I used to launch out of Sheepshead Bay on party boats for a day's fishing with some old Marine vets years ago. Micky McDermott was a Korean vet and a steam guy for Con Ed but was the nastiest baddest s.o.b. I have ever met with some beers in him. Six-foot-one and 200 pounds and nothing but muscle. But he liked me and I'd go fishing with him with some other fellows that figured we could control him when he went nuts.
McDermott died suddenly and young about thirty years ago and was just another clue to me that nobody has any control over the calendar.
I have read about the old racetrack at Sheepshead and there was another one not far off at Gravesend.
I've been around so long I remember the BMT running to Canasie at street level with the gates going down and woods being all over the place instead of handout housing and shootings.
