I didn't have much shopping to do at ShopRite when I went out at 6:30 this morning - just beer, a blueberry muffin and sardines for the cats outside. When I rolled into the driveway Tuxedo the black cat with the small white patch on his chest trotted out of the garage to sit by my side steps. I go up those steps to get into my house with groceries since the kitchen is there. I got my stuff out of the car and began the short walk to the side steps. And that's when Tuxedo leaped to the top step and sat down, blocking the door.
I got the message. I laid down the groceries and sat down on the side steps. And then that's when Tux stepped down one step and gently stepped onto my lap. I rubbed him up and he flopped across my thighs. I lost ten minutes of my life petting him while his eyes were closed and he was purring. The cats outside that live in the garage and cat condos are feral beasts and I take a huge chance whenever I get near one. Tux and Garfield love to be rubbed up and petted.
