The wife rolled into the driveway on Tuesday afternoon after running some errands. When she got out of the car the gentle black cat Tuxedo walked up to her with a bird in his jaws. She held out her hand and Tuxedo dropped the bird into it.
The bird was alive and Colleen made her way to the front door with it. I have no idea what we were going to do with the bird but while fumbling with her keys the bird wiggled, she opened her hand and the bird took flight like a bat out of hell. She said the bird had red on its head and some white stripes down lower on its body. Starlings eat the cat kibble and always have "guard birds" on the fence or roof to scream out a warning when a cat is nearby but they ain't got no red on the head.
No doubt Tuxedo had just captured the bird and was on his way to disable it and play with it while it thrashed around before he killed it and tore it apart for some warm guts food. When he saw Colleen he gifted the bird to her since she brings him lots of good food and launders the cat beds in the garage.
Good girl, lucky bird and an outside cat that does what Mom Nature has him programmed to do.
