Around noon today I gathered up the house cat breakfast leavings to bring outside. Mr. Orange was across the hood of the wife's car laid out flat. My initial thought was that somebody had murdered him and laid him out.
But no. That strange loner cat was sleeping and he hopped of the car to munch some lunch. None of the outside cats bother with Mr. Orange and he doesn't get close to them. When I go to pet him he just hunkers down and slurks away. I have never seen that cat aggressive or friendly even though I know him since the day he was born about three years ago. The cats in the outside colony accept him and let him be.
He's a loner and I don't think he has ever left my property. He eats well here and has good places to sleep with good shelter. Watching cats and trying to understand them can be a fascinating project.

I think, Mr Orange has a feline version of Asperger's or some equivalent. He is happy, safe and healthy. Odd...but so are many humans!
