As some of you know, our friend and former board regular Shammy (Stefanie Maccario) passed away last Friday, June 12 after a long bout of illness. As a result of funeral expenses and countless medical bills, the Maccario family is in need of help. Stef’s daughter Megan’s best friend Samantha has set up a GoFundMe page to help offset the family’s out of pocket expense. As of this morning, the fundraiser has raised $4,850 from a goal of $7,500. The outpouring of generosity has been tremendous. I encourage anyone who would like to honor Stef’s memory to chip in. Here is the link:

Thank you.

I liked Stefanie. She wore her heart on her sleeve when it cane to loving thoroughbreds. Stef was the catalyst when we pitched in to claim and retire fan-favorite GOLDEN TENT at Philly Park via Gary Contessa.

I remember that case. The woman who helped us out brawled for years in court and was exonerated.

Shammy was always top shelf. Rest in Peace my friend. PS if sending to the cause, Pay Pal is better. GFM charges 10%.
