This huge horror crawled up to his mother today and latched on to a nipple at the age of ten weeks and three days. Damn, this guy is eating kibble, cat food, fresh fish, ham from the deli, Rice Krispies, and my wife's meat balls.

His mother, Mister Mittens, allows it but is not thrilled. Her instincts and Mother Nature are telling her that it's time to stop producing milk, "dry up", and get her kittens out of her life so that she can go on and mate again (ain't gonna happen). She gets up to move away. Her son follows her and tries to get under her belly. She lets out a scream and swats him good with claws out. Her ears were back and she was snarling.

Not ten minutes later Trouble was napping and his mother was licking him from head to toe.

Ten minutes later Mister Mittens was napping and brought her tiny daughter, Shiloh, into a nipple and did nothing except hold her small daughter into her belly with her two front paws. Little Shiloh always got the last nipple or got shut out by her larger littermates as a newborn and maybe her mother was trying to make amends. I don't know but I do know that cats are fascinating creatures to be around.

I just went downstairs to the saloon to drop off a few empties - no cats to be seen.

I went to the living room looking for the felines - no cats.

Now I'm back upstairs and yup - no cats.

I'm here 32 years and the cats know how to disappear better than I do at night.

Cats are soooooooo smart! but they'll find you at 5am!

I often "awaken" with "breath" in my face and one cat sitting at the top of my head and one on either side. If I move...too late...they know I'm awake!
