I was playing the Australian racing upstairs at my desk and minding my own business. The two kittens were sleeping happily on the Castro in the next room.
Mister Mittens came upstairs and jumped on the Castro. There was a skirmish and she kicked her kittens off the Castro - they went downstairs and Mister Mittens took over the Castro and laid down.
Fast forward an hour. The kittens are sleeping together in a cat bed in the living room and Mister Mittens is prowling around at 3 a.m. Every time I go near her she runs to the door. I think Mom Nature wants her to get plowed and pregnant again but that's not happening on my watch. The feral cats she ran with are still in my neighborhood.
She's been cared for at the vet - innoculated and de-wormed. Now her kittens get treated. Then she gets spayed. Then her kittens get neutered. Dr. Wallach and I have a plan working that's OK for the cats and OK for my wallet.
The amazing thing about female cats is that they do not ovulate until they get "serviced" but Jesus H. Christ sometimes they want to go out.
My border collie Susan used to go in heat and chase male dogs while running backwards with her tail up but happily lady cats are more discrete.

Make sure Mr Mittens doesn't sneak out.... that is what happened to my pedigree sealpoint Siamese...she jumped out an open window and mated with someone...
The kittens (now male cats) are solid grey with white feet/face and black w /white feet/ face. Both cats have a Siamese meow and love to play "fetch"

Yup, we have to be careful going in and out. The cat will sometimes be ready to dart out once the door opens.

This nursing craze may be over. I just watched Mister Mittens fight off her two kittens when they were looking to nurse. Looks like the well has gone dry.
